Collection: Free Soft Gear for OI Families

What We Offer

We offer soft, protective gear free of charge to families with children living with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as brittle bone disease. 

These pads were initially created for young skaters, but we’ve learned they can also provide daily comfort and gentle protection for children with fragile bones. What began with a single family has quietly grown into an ongoing, heart-led effort to support others, one request at a time.

This support program is a student-led initiative and is completely separate from Skating Spirit commercial sales. Our family fully self-funds it and offers it with care.

How to Request Gear

If you’re a parent, caregiver, or guardian of a child living with OI, we’d love to hear from you.

To request free gear:

1. View the offered items below
2. Send us an email at skatingspirit@gmail.com or use our contact form
3. In your message, please include:

• The age and general size of the child
• Which item(s) you think might help
• A short note about who the gear is for (no diagnosis or medical records required - we just want a little context)
• Your shipping address

We’ll suggest the right size and ship the item(s) to you FOR FREE!

As more families reach out, we may explore community fundraising options to keep this effort sustainable. For now, this project is self-funded, and we’re doing it quietly, from the heart.
