Supporting Children with Brittle Bone Disease (OI)
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), commonly known as brittle bone disease, is a rare genetic condition that causes bones to break easily, sometimes with little or no apparent cause. For children living with OI, even normal daily activities can carry unexpected risks. But these children are strong, resilient, and inspiring in every way.
How It Started
In 2023, a family contacted us. Their young daughter, who lives with OI, had experienced several injuries during everyday play. We sent her pairs of soft, protective knee pads - the same kind we originally designed for young figure skaters. The knee pads had helped to cushion her falls and more importantly gave her confidence in activities. She and her family were so happy with the result that it encouraged us to continue offering this support to others.
What We Offer
We’re not a foundation or a large organization. But if your child lives with OI and you think our protective gear could make a difference in daily life, we’d love to help. We provide these items free of charge to families who need them.
